While the two words are closely related, it’s important to note that an insurance plan is created to reimburse you for services rendered, whereas a benefit plan consists of funds set aside and designated to cover specific costs.

To avoid any misinterpretations of your pediatric dental plan, be sure to call your insurance provider prior to a pediatric dental visit. They will be able to clarify whether the service your child is receiving is covered, partially covered or not covered. As a rule of thumb, typically all preventative care services are 100 percent covered.
